We got a jump start on our Wednesday at the Greenburgh Nature Center where the children fed most of the animals their breakfast. We petted animals, read book a book about a Hen, met a chinchilla named Pepe and visited with 5 of our Elmwood friends. After the Nature Center, we headed home for lunch and X a nap while Sophia and Mommy headed out the door to the AquaTots "end of year" swim party. At the pool, Mommy got to suit up and jump in with Sophia and her coaches while they explained everything that Sophia can do in the pool. We had such a great time, just me and Sophia while X stayed home with our neighbor Pat (thank goodness for Pat!). After swim, we raced home to find Xavier super sad to be without mommy and Sophia. We scooped him up and headed to Irvington to meet Lucy and Lisa for the Gold Ranger show. The Army was putting on an airshow where a couple guys parachute into the park. HOWEVER, this did not happen. After about an hour of hanging out, they cancelled the show because the clouds were too low. bummer. We decided to take a short drive into downtown Irvington and check out the Farmer's Market. They had some yoga for the children, live music and some yummy baked goods. We hung out and enjoyed the cloudy day with our friends Lucy and Lisa! While Sophia and Lucy were stretching out during their grass session of yoga (thank goodness I remembered to put shorts under Sophia's dress this am), Xavier and Mommy took a short walk down to Sal's Barber Shop to get a quick haircut...lucky us, NO LINE! X was great and even though the hair cut is a little short, Mommy loves it. It is no surprise that after the Farmer's Market, on the way home, S and X closed their eyes without hesitation. I transferred them to the couch instead of their beds because, mind you, it was already 5:30, TOO late for naps! I hoped they would have casually woken up on the couch, but they were both snoring away till 6:05 when Mommy woke up two unhappy nappers!! Ha! Love these summer days!
