Muscoot Farm

It was such a beautiful day today at Muscoot Farm. The sun was up, the sky was blue and there was no humidity! We took Max and Sophia up to one of our favorite spots to see the animals and be one with nature! :) We had a picnic, collected some feathers and the morning was complete! Yes, that is Max tickling Sophia in the 2nd to last photo. What can I say??!! It was a moment.

Max and the Lake House

Today, Sophia and Mommy spent the day with Max and his family at Mima's lake house. Sophia had so much fun in the water, playing in the sand, fishing and going for boat rides with Max. The weather was just right and the kids had a lot of fun together. Yes, Mommy forgot Sophia's swim suit...thus the elmo chones.

Weekend Gardening

I don't know if you remember the hedges that we previous had on the side of the house, next to the pond...do you? They were so sad and dry and not healthy. Daddy took them all out...all 40 of them! He has replaced them with some cute holly shrubs, a sprinkler drip system and some cedar chips...all with Sophia's help! :)

Berkshire Weekend

What an amazing weekend getaway! We headed up north, a 2.5 hour drive, to The Berkshires to watch Tia Leia's play, "Richard III". Leia did such and incredible job in the show, that we all were swept away with her character, Lady Anne. She actually got to sneak away before the play to take some photos with us behind the theatre but we had to hurry in case someone SAW HER IN COSTUME!! The last photo is of Leia and her friend/colleague, John Douglas Thompson, who played King Richard III.

Friday Morning

Wow...it is already SO HOT this morning and its only 9 a.m! What are we going to do today!?...except have a photo shoot. And even that didn't go so well as Sophia kept saying, "Too hot, mommy". Oh well, it was worth a try.

Gardening

Brandon and Sophia did so much gardening this weekend and we're still not done!! We finally planted some evergreen trees to make a hedge in the backyard and added some pretty petunias that Sophia picked out. Monday, we are trying to finish the front yard with a hedge along the side where the pond is! Its supposed to be 98 today, so I'm not sure how much we'll actually get done. I think Target sounds more like fun. :) PS: She calls her red cowboy hat her, "Woody Hat".

Our 4th of July at Kensico Dam

We took a chance and decided to take Sophia on her first 4th of July celebration. The weather was perfect for an outing to the park at 75 degrees. We hit up Kensico Dam for a picnic, soccer, ice cream and fireworks with Mommy, Daddy and Tia Priscilla. Eventhough it was past Sophia's bedtime when the fireworks started, she was a very patient little lady. She loved all the fireworks and narrarated the whole show by saying all the colors of each explosion. It was a great idea afterall and we were all happy to come home and brush up for bed!

Starting our 4th of July Weekend

Today, we met Max and new little brother, Cole, at the pool for a refreshing swim. Sophia was dashing in her American swimsuit from Abuelita. After nap, we met Zoe at the park for some sliding, playing store and tree climbing. A good start to our 3 day "4th of July" weekend. Tomorrow, Tia Yaya comes and we'll take Sophia to her first firework show!

Lasdon Park

Sophia and Mommy found the garden of eden this morning. We've been meaning to try out this "garden" ever since we moved to Westchester 3 years ago. Today, being 75 degrees, we finally took the 20 mile drive to check it out and we were very happy we did! The park was full of little walking paths every which way, surrounded by green trees and flowers! I bet this place looks amazing in the early spring (will have to remember that next year). It has orchestras playing on Friday nights in the summer while guests can picnic...how romantic, sound like the Great Gatsby!
